DSS to quiz Alimodu Sheriff over Boko Haram sponsorship allegation

The Department of State Security, DSS, says it will be inviting former Borno state governor, Alimodu Sheriff, for questioning following recent allegations leveled against him by Australian hostage negotiator, Stephen Davis, who said he's a Boko Haram sponsor.

Speaking at a news conference yesterday in Abuja, spokesperson for DSS, Marilyn Ogar, said the former governor had in the past been invited to the DSS office for questioning over Boko Haram activities and they will be inviting him again. Leader of terrorist group al-Shabaab killed in U.S airstrike in Somalia

The Somali prime minister said on Friday that Ahmed Godane, head of the Islamist militant group al Shabaab, was killed in a U.S. strike on Monday, although the group that is waging an insurgency against the government has yet to comment.

U.S. officials had said on Wednesday that they were still checking to see whether Monday's U.S. missile strike on an al Shabaab encampment had killed Godane, who was appointed leader in 2008 after his predecessor was killed in a U.S. attack.

"We tell the Somalis that Godane is dead," Prime Minister Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed said on his Facebook page, the first government confirmation of his death. (Reuters)

FG denies hiring Stephen Davis as Boko Haram negotiator

FG has denied claims by Australian hostage negotiator, Stephen Davis, that he was hired by the Nigerian Government to negotiate for the release of Chibok girls.

Speaking through the Coordinator of the National Information Center, Mr Mike Omeri, today Sept. 5th in Abuja, FG said the decision to hire a negotiator would be made public whenever they decide to do so and that they have no plans to question those alleged to be Boko Haram sponsors by Stephen Davis

"For now nobody has been hired by the government to negotiate on its behalf with Boko Haram. Anytime the government decides to do so, it will make it known to the public. The government is still investigating the allegations made by the alleged negotiator. However, the government has no plan to question anybody because of those allegations made by the Australian,” Omeiri stated.

'Go ahead and sue me' - Australian negotiator tells Alimodu Sheriff

Australian negotiator Stephen Davis has dared former Borno state governor, Alimodu Sheriff to sue him for saying he's one of the sponsors of Boko Haram. Mr Sheriff had threatened to sue at a press conference on Wednesday.

Speaking with TheCable today, Davis said if Alimodu Sheriff goes to court, evidences to prove he has connections with the sect will be produced.

"He is worried, is he? He knows that if he goes to court, the evidence will be produced and he cannot escape justice. Let him go to court if that is what he wishes. It is his right to do so. He will not be able to avoid close examination and then the facts will be known. Good luck to him if he decides to sue me in Australia. He can’t buy the judges here. Twin boys stabbed to death by their brother who then killed himself

9 year old twin brothers Patrick and Thomas O'Driscoll were stabbed to death yesterday September 4th by their older half brother Jonathan, 20, who then killed himself about an hour later. Read the full story below...

Nine-year-old Patrick and Thomas O’Driscoll were dressed in their school uniforms when found dead in separate bedrooms by their younger brothers, aged three and five.

Their half-sibling Jonathan, 20, sped from the scene in Charleville, Co Cork, and was discovered hanged 15km away.

The tragic boys’ parents Tom and Ellen were shopping in nearby Kilmallock, Limerick, at the time.A security source told the Irish Mirror : “It was a frenzied attack, the boys were stabbed multiple times. It’s understood there are psychological issues involved.”

No second Ebola death recorded says Rivers state Govt.

The Rivers state government has contradicted yesterday's report by the Health Minister who said an elderly woman died from the Ebola Virus Disease on Tuesday September 2nd in Port Harcourt.

At a press briefing today in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state Commissioner for Health, Dr Samson Parker said the elderly woman died of cardiac arrest and not Ebola as stated by the Minister of Health through his media spokesperson, Dan Nwomeh. Continue...

Chris Oyakhilome denies adultery accusations, threatens to sue journalists

Rev. Chris Oyakhilome, who is currently in divorce court with his estranged wife Anita Oyakhilome has denied adultery accusations and has threatened to sue journalists who publish stories about himself and his wife. In a statement released via his lawyer Mr. Kemi Pinheiro (SAN), Pastor Oyakhilome said the accusations of adultery against him is 'false and malicious'.

Boko Haram reportedly takes over Bara town

While it's still not clear if Boko Haram has taken control of Borno's second biggest city, Bama, there are reports now that they have taken control of the smaller town of Bara, which is halfway between Maiduguri and Abuja.

Reuters reports that Boko Haram took over Bara town without firing a shot or killing anyone. A source said the militants entered the town without any resistance from any security forces who are not stationed anywhere in the small town, and went about trying to convince people to join their cause.

The pic above shows the horrific injuries a teenage girl suffered after her jealous boyfriend bit her lip during a violent attack. 18 year old Chantelle Ward said her boyfriend, 23 year old Rhys Culley sank his teeth into her flesh during a kiss after asking her if she loved him.

Nigerian men are always in a rush when it comes to sex- sex expert says

Sex Therapist, pastor Funmi Akingbade says the average Nigerian man is not the most patient lover. In an interview with City People magazine, pastor Akingbade said Nigerian men see foreplay and other activities before intercourse as a waste of time. She says to have a bliss marital life, great sex must be incorporated and that the woman should not be seen as an object just to 'release' into.

Former Borno state governor Alimodu Sheriff, who was accused by Australian Boko Haram negotiator Stephen Davis of being a sponsor of Boko Haram, held a press conference today where he addressed the accusations. He denied the claims and said he plans to sue Mr Davis. He said the campaign against him is 'callous and unwarranted' and those linking him with the sect are 'either ignorant or completely out for mischief'. Some of the things he said below...

British national slumps and dies at Lagos airport

A high ranking British envoy who arrived Lagos yesterday evening September 2nd reportedly slumped and died shortly after landing at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport.

Immediately the man, who arrived on a United Airlines flight slumped, eyewitnesses said many passengers and airport officials took to their heels for fear of the Ebola virus disease.

The man was later attended to by airport health officials who after carrying out proper examinations on him found out he'd suffered a heart attack. His body is currently in the custody of airport officials

Rivers State releases N300million to fight Ebola in the state

Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi announced yesterday that his administration has released over N300million to fight the Ebola virus in the state.

Amaechi disclosed this while speaking with the Country Director of the World Health Organization, WHO, Mr. Rui Vaz, at the government house in Port Harcourt.

“Whatever it takes for us to overcome Ebola, please, I will do it because it costs more if Ebola is on the loose than if it is contained. So, we are happy that the World Health Organization is here to assist Rivers State. We are happy that the World Health Organization appreciates the dangers of Ebola to our communities. We need to contain Ebola. If there is no cure, then there is containment so that more persons don’t contract it. The Rivers State Government is prepared to take all the responsibility. The citizens are ours,” Amaechi said.

ISIS beheads another American journalist, Steven Sotloff

ISIS released a brutal video today showing the beading of a second U.S journalist, 31 year old Steven Sotlof. Sotloff had appeared in another video where U.S Journalist James Foley was killed two weeks ago (left. Sotloff pictured right at the execution scene). And it looks like Sotloff was killed by the same executioner who killed Foley on August 19th. He had same British accent and before beheading Sotloff, the terrorist said;

Kaduna records first case of Ebola

According to a report by Premium Times, a 19 year old student of Law at Ahmadu Bello University has been diagnosed with the deadly Ebola virus in Kaduna.

PT reports that the PRO of the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, ABUTH, Bilyaminu Umar, confirmed the case yesterday Monday September 1st when contacted via phone; saying that the student was diagnosed at ABUTH, Shika, Zaria.

"Yes, there was a case of a suspected Ebola patient. He is with the Faculty of Law, ABU, Zaria and will be placed on isolation. I am out of town, but will confirm details on my return from a trip.” he said

 Chris Brown was in court today and according to reports, he accepted a plea deal in his Washington D.C. assault case.

Chris Brown pleaded guilty, and telling the judge he just wants this case to go away so he can go on tour. Brown had been charged with misdemeanor assault for punching a man in the face outside his tour bus last October. The judge sentenced him to time already served. Nigerian mum gives birth to white baby

32 year old Nigerian Catherine Howarth was convinced she had been given the wrong child when midwives presented her with her new baby shortly after she gave birth at a Milton Keynes Hospital on June 1st. She was stunned because the little boy named Jonah was completely white. And even though baby Jonah has a white father, doctors say the chances of him being completely white too were an incredible one in a million.

I killed my father over a stick of cigarette – Suspect

25 year old Best Momodu, (pictured in blue) one of the 63 criminals paraded yesterday September 1st by men of the Edo state Police command at the state Force Headquaters, confessed to stabbing his own father to death over a stick of cigarette he stole from the man, Vanguard reports.

The divorce mess between Pastors Chris and Anita Oyakhilome of Christ Embassy Church has worsened, P.M News reports.

On Sunday, two days after it was reported that Anita Oyakhilome had filed for divorce, Christ Embassy deleted her pictures and personal information from its official website, www.christembassy.org.
