15 Beauty Tips For Clear Skin

What do most beautiful film stars have in common? Their toned and glowing skin! I always envy the skin of those celebrities and wish I had skin like them. I don’t know for sure what the stars do, but I’ve put together some tips of my own for getting your skin to glow. Water – The Great Purifier Glowing, clear skin reflects the fact that there are few impurities – toxins and waste products – within your body. Thus, one of the most important steps to clear, flawless skin is to drink loads of water. Water helps flush all the impurities and toxins out of the body. Drinking lots of water also helps the skin stay hydrated and “plump,” resulting in fewer visible wrinkles. Scrub-A-Dub-Dub Exfoliating your skin regularly is essential for getting and maintaining clear skin. Skin exfoliation helps get rid of dead skin cells, opening the way for fresh, new ones to replace them. Additionally, exfoliation strips of the grime and pollutants that build up on your skin over time. This keeps your pores unblocked, leaving you less likely to get whiteheads, blackheads and pimples. Peel Your Way To Great Skin Papaya is a wonder fruit and it’s fantastic for your skin. Why spring for an expensive spa face peel when the natural chemicals in the papaya will do exactly the same thing? Cut up a papaya and gently rub the peel over your clean face. Leave the papaya residue on for 10 – 15 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water, followed by a splash of cold to close your pores. Moisturize And Shine All skin care experts agree – keeping your skin moist is the most important factor in good skin health. One of my favorite products for keeping my skin hydrated is grape seed oil! Not only is grape seed oil absorbed quickly and completely by the skin – moisturizing without any “greasy” feel – it’s also great for toning and tightening, reducing under-eye circles, minimizing the appearance of wrinkles and curing acne! It even makes a great bath oil or after- shower moisturizer. Are You Feeding Your Skin? The glow on your skin is directly connected to your diet. While having too much oil and fat in your diet is bad for you, you need to remember that a moderate amount of those substances are necessary for keeping your skin healthy. Moderate amounts of oil and fat – especially those containing anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatories – are required to keep your skin from aging too quickly. A high level of protein is also recommended, as protein is needed to create and maintain healthy skin cells. Get Up, Get Going When you’re talking about skin health, the topic of exercise shouldn’t be ignored. Exercise gets your system “charged up,” thereby improving your blood. This helps create that healthy glow! Makeup Keeping your skin completely makeup free is probably a bit much to ask. I know I can’t do it! If you need or want to wear makeup, just remember to be kind to your skin. Choose a foundation that states on the label that it is “noncomedogenic” – meaning that it won’t clog your pores. Most importantly, make sure that you remove your makeup each night before bed. Otherwise you’ll definitely be setting the stage for an acne attack. Cleansing your face at least twice a day, once when you get up and again before bedtime, is the most important factor in maintaining a glowing complexion. Be Happy! Last, but certainly not least, be happy! Stress and anxiety are not only bad for your general healthy, but also bad for your skin. When you find yourself feeling overwhelmed, take a break, have a nice glass of water, and think about how gorgeous your skin is going to be!
