Kidnappers Kill Doctor In Edo

A medical doctor attached to the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital (ISTH), Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo State, Dr. Sunday Ezuozegba, has reportedly been shot dead by suspected kidnappers who abducted him on Monday.
When the vehicle in which the kidnapped doctor was being conveyed suddenly developed problem in Ekpoma, headquarters of Esan West
Local Government Area, his abductors reportedly shot sporadically into the air to scare motorists and in the process the medical doctor was hit by bullets, resulting in his instant death.
Following the death of the doctor, workers of the tertiary health institution embarked on a peaceful protest on Wednesday to the palace of the traditional ruler of Ekpoma, Onojie Abumere II, where they complained over what they called “incessant kidnappings of medical staff.”
Edo State Police Command Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Moses Eguavoen, could not be reached for comment as calls to his phone failed. [PMNews]
