A top businessman in Aba has been murdered by unknown assassins and his corpse abandoned in his car.
Leadership reports that the deceased,
Felix Udensi Okwuobasi, the proprietor of a chain of fast food outlets
in the high-brow Okigwe Road area, was accosted by the gunmen as he was
driving into his house located at No. 10 Agwaragwa Street, Abayi area of
Aba, on May 29, 2014.
His wife was forced out of the car while he was taken away by his assailants.
He was discovered the next day at about 6:30
am along Ayaba Umueze Road in the outskirts of the city, in his Toyota
Camry, lying in a pool of his own blood.
His remains have since been deposited at the mortuary.
Confirming the incident, the Abia state police
public relations officer, Geoffrey Ogbonna said investigation into the
incident has started, adding that a team of detectives have been
deployed to fish out the killers of the businessman.
Ogbonna condemned the barbaric act, while also appealing to residents of Aba to be security- conscious.
He called on them to alert the police whenever they notice suspicious movements in their neighbourhoods.
He also urged those with useful information
about the killers to report to the police, assuring that the identity of
informers will not be disclosed.
