Abia Poly Student Shot Dead By Suspected Cultists

A student of the Abia State Polytechnic, Aba, has been shot dead by suspected cultists over the weekend.

The unnamed student, an indigene of Ndume Ibeku in Umuahia North LGA of the state, was returning from school on the day he was shot.

Reports say he was accosted by some boys at Immaculate Avenue, just a short distance from the polytechnic, and subsequently shot dead after a brief exchange of words.

The deceased was rushed to the Abia State Teaching Hospital (AB­SUTH), Aba after his attackers fled the scene.

Abia Command Po­lice Public Relations Offi­cer, Geoffrey Ogbonna, confirmed the incident.

Ogbonna added that the Police is working hard to make sure that the culprits answer for their crime.
