Nigeria’s unity: Al-Mustapha, Fasheun, Dokubo, Abacha, Uwazuruike storm Owerri

Ex-Chief Security Officer (CSO) to the late head of State, Sani Abacha, Hamza Al-Mustapha leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), Asari Mujahid Dokubo, founder of the Odua People’s Congress (OPC), Dr Fredrick Fasheun , son of the late Sani Abacha, Mohammed Abacha and the President of Arewa youths, Yerima Shetima, on Thursday, met with the leader of the Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Chief Ralph Uwazuruike in Owerri, the Imo State capital. The motive of the meeting which attracted large turnout of Igbo leaders and members of MASSOB, was not immediately disclosed as they were shielded from journalists at the Owerri Airport, where they were received by the MASSOB leader. However, Dokubo who was cornered by newsmen , explained that they were in Imo State, to discuss the challenges confronting the country and to proffer solutions to the problems facing the people, including the 2015 general election. Speaking later at the palace of Eze Nri, Eze Obidiegwu Onyesoh in Nri ancient kingdom, Anaocha Council Area of Anambra State, Al-Mustapha, who led the delegation, hinted, , “We understand at this point in time in the journey of our democracy, the need to throw a bridge that will be seen as to create passages for our younger generation to criss-cross Nigeria in peace, unity and love. “For us to understand how to prosper through spirit of brotherhood and to build a bridge of peace across our country, we must equally understand modalities for greater interactions, unity and understanding of purpose.” According to him, “We are leaders of youths in North-West, North-Central, North- East and South-South and delegation from South- West, led by Fasheun and of course others, who are with us, we decided to pay you a courtesy call and to bring to you our desire to bridge the gaps in this country, so that peace, unity and development will reign in the entire nation. “We are the sons of all the six zones, leaders of different, associations, youth bodies and movements which have come together to chat a course that will promote peace, harmony, understanding and where disaffection will have no place and bickering will be of the past, we are committed to this. I am impressed with the Igbo culture of forgiveness.” Earlier in his speech, the monarch commended Al -Mustapha and other members of the entourage, for teaming up to advance the course of peace, unity and harmony in the country.
