Fayose: Lai Mohammed must name 15 ex-governors, 55 Nigerians that stole N1.34tr

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has challenged the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed to make public names of the 15 former governor and 55 Nigerians that he claimed stole N1.34 trillion between 2006 and 2013 or keep his mouth shut permanently.
He said; “The reality is that the APC Federal Government has destroyed the economy within eight months in power and rather than look for solutions to the problems facing Nigeria, Lai Mohammed and his cohorts are branding bogus figures about stolen money just to cover up their lack of solution to the country’s economic problems.”

An Ondo State High Court sitting in Akure has sentenced 2 persons, Ita Enang & Olayemi Bamitale, to death by hanging, for killing a former Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Prof. Albert Ilemobade in June 2015

Enang and Bamitale who were both domestic staff of the deceased, connived and had him killed over financial disagreement.

After killing him, they hid his body in his garage and escaped with his SUV and other valuables.

Court sends Pro-Biafran leader Nnamdi Kanu to Kuje prison

Justice John Itsoho of the Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered that Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenious People of Biafra, who has been in the custody of the Department of State Security Service since October 14th last year, be sent to Kuje prison in Abuja immediately.

The order was given at a resumed hearing of the treasonable charges the Federal government filed against him today January 20th. His lawyer actually asked that Nnamdi should be sent to prison as it was difficult for his legal team and friends to talk to him while he was in DSS custody.

Nigeria signs agreement with UAE on recovery of stolen funds

Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) today Tuesday January 19th in Abu Dhabi signed six agreements to enhance bilateral relations between them.

According to a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, Femi Adesina, the signing of the agreements on trade, finance and judicial matters was witnessed by Pres. Buhari and the Crown Prince of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Jonah Okoji ,42, of south Manchester is wanted by Greater Manchester Police for a number of alleged rapes that took place in the Levenshulme area of Manchester between August 2011 and July 2014. He is also wanted for an incident of criminal damage linked to the rapes that occurred in July 2014. The police believe that Okoji - also known as Joe Helma - has possibly moved to Ireland.

Senate receives letter for the corrected version of 2016 budget from the presidency

The Senate has received a letter from President Buhari, stating that some adjustments were made to the 2016 budget presented to it on December 22nd. The letter which was read before the house by Senate President Bukola Saraki this morning reads in part ‪

Call for Buhari’s impeachment joke of the year - Senate

The Leadership of the Senate has described the call by PDP for the impeachment of President Buhari over the missing budget as the biggest joke of the year. Senate leader, Ali Ndume said this while speaking with newsmen in Abuja yesterday January 18th;
‘It is the biggest joke of the year. We should be talking of how to kill the PDP for exposing this country to this mess. They killed the country in their 16 years’ reign and now somebody is correcting their mess.
I believe in the president and I’m one of the ardent believers of President Buhari. We have been together since 2003. He is the kind of leader we need to move forward. His emergence was divine intervention and the good thing is that we have a president that is in charge, unlike before that we didn’t,’’ he said.

Enyimba FC team bus attacked by Armed robbers while travelling

Enyimba Football club of Aba players were attacked on Monday Jan. 18th while they were on transit to Kaduna to participate in this year’s Super 4 tournament. The team bus was attacked by armed robbers in Kogi state and valuable items such as wristwatches, phones, laptops and cash were taken by the robbers. Enyimba representatives confirmed the incident on their official twitter handle:
“We can confirm that our team bus was attacked by armed robbers this afternoon in Okene, Kogi State on our way to Kaduna for the #SuperFour. Thankfully, there were no injuries during this unfortunate incident. Players and officials were however stripped of all valuables”.

A 28 year old Nigerian student of Kampala University identified as Rufus Okafor has been arrested in Kampala, Uganda after he was intercepted with 19 kilograms of marijuana and 795grames of heroin worth sh229m at Posta Uganda on Friday January 15th. According to reports, Rufus was about to send the drugs to Netherlands when he was arrested. He will be appearing in a Ugandan court today January 19th. Another photo after the cut...

Buhari writes National Assembly to correct errors in 2016 budget

According to a report by Thisday, President Buhari has written to the Nationally Assembly to formally request the withdrawal of the 2016 Budget. In a letter which was addressed to Senate President Bukola Saraki and Speaker of the House of Reps Yakubu Dogara, Buhari seeked to make amends to some errors in the budget which was presented to a joint session of the National Assembly on December 22nd.

Sources say President Buhari had discovered after presenting the budget to the National Assembly that some of the figures earmarked for operations in the Presidency and the State House were being publicly criticized as outrageous and higher than those of the past administration. He is said to have directed the recall of the 2016 budget from the National Assembly for review.

A 41-year-old man who hired people to attack his ex-wife with acid after she refused to patch up with  him has been arrested by Ho Minh City police in Vietnam.

Nguyen Quoc Dung was arrested together with Le Hoang Oanh, 50, who has allegedly hired two men to attack Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, 38, when she was driving a motorbike on Vo Van Kiet Street on January 12.
The attack occurred at around 7 p.m. when two men on a motorbike threw acid on  Ha,  Ha who was riding with her six-year-old daughter and housekeeper, was immediately rushed to the hospital with burns in her face and neck and her left eye has been damaged. Her daughter and the housekeeper escaped unharmed.

A video making round on Chinese social media yesterday shows a 15-year-old girl being attacked by a gang made up of young girls in Lingao, Hainan Province, China. 

She was brutally beaten, kicked and stripped off her clothes. According to media reports, the incident has caught the attention of local police, and they’re conducting an investigation along with the crime and cyber police departments of Dongying town, Lingao county.
