Craze Clown unveiled as Nairabet Ambassador..

Comedian Emmanuel Iwueke, popularly known as Craze Clown, has joined pop stars, Phyno and Skuki as well as SuperSport pundit, Segun Agbede as NairaBET brand ambassador.

The announcement was made at their Lekki head office a few days ago and was followed by celebrations to mark the occasion.

NairaBET is the pioneer sports betting outfit in Nigeria and is licensed and regulated by the Lagos State Lotteries Board.

Wife of former captain and chief coach of the Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi was laid buried today, Friday Jan. 15. Late Kate Keshi (nee Abureme) died on December 9, 2015, in the U.S. after a long battle with cancer. She was ‎laid to rest at her husband’s house at Ugiokhuen Quarters, Ugbor, GRA, in Benin, after a ‎requiem mass held at St. Paul Catholic Church, Airport Road.

Presidency reacts to missing budget, says Nigerians should hold N/Assembly responsible

Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Shehu Garba has asked Nigerians to direct all their questions about the missing soft and hard copies of the 2016 budget to the National Assembly. According to Garba, nobody can withdraw the budget from the National Assembly except President Buhari.

Senator Ali Ndume had announced to his colleagues during plenary today that the budget was missing.

Thai woman marries her dead fiancé at his funeral

A Thai woman who was planning to get married within a few months to her fiancé, but he died of a sudden heart attack before they could exchange their vows, still got married to his dead corpse at his funeral.

The unusual marriage ceremony drove her guests and the internet to tears. The bride, Nan Thippharat, shared the photos of the ceremony on Facebook, which went viral.
Nan wrote on her Facebook wall about her fiancé Fiat and about the ceremony:

"I dreamed of our wedding. I saw us holding hands. Rest in peace. I love you, Fiat. Please know that our dream has come true.
It was my way of paying tribute to him in this life because I know one day we will be together for eternity in the next one.
I loved him with all my heart and I couldn't bear it when he was taken from me.
He looked splendid on his wedding day, I know he would have liked it''.

ISIS suicide bomber blows himself up in centre of Istanbul killing 10 tourists

An Isis suicide bomber who entered Turkey from Syria killed 10 foreigners when he exploded in a popular central Istanbul tourist area know as Sultanahmet Square.
The attacker has been identified as 28 year old Nabil Fadli, a Saudi Arabian born Syrian National.

According to witnesses, the blast shook buildings and was heard across the city, while images showed corpses and body parts strewn across the square, close to iconic sites, and also in a Blue Mosque.

Buhari meets with Saraki at the state house

2016 budget reportedly goes missing at National Assembly

According to a report by Daily Trust, the hard and soft copy of the 2016 budget proposal submitted to the National Assembly by President Buhari on December 22nd is missing. The disappearance of the budget document was announced by Senator Ali Ndume during a closed door session that lasted 90 minutes today January 12th. This comes amid rumors that the budget was withdrawn from the Legislature by the Presidency. The Senators were supposed to commence the consideration of the N6.08tr budget today.

Iranian goalkeeper arrested for posting 'Indecent' photos of himself with women..despite claiming he was hacked

The Goalkeeper for Iranian team, Persepolis and member of Iranian national team, Sosha Makani, was arrested for posting indecent photos of himself with women not veiled in Islamic hijab. In the photos, some women appeared to be dancing with him and some looked like they were posing as fans.

According to the Iranian cyber law, posting indecent photos online is a crime that is punishable by law.

Photos: At least 10 killed, 15 injured following a bomb blast in Turkey today

A massive explosion that rocked a square in the historic Sultanahmet district of the Turkish city of Istanbul today Tuesday, January 12 left at least 10 people dead and 15 others injured.

The Turkish authorities suspect a terror attack was the cause of the blast, a government official said, asking not to be named.
Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu convened an emergency security meeting of key ministers and officials after a the attack. Those taking part in the meeting include the powerful Interior Minister Efkan Ala and spy chief Hakan Fidan, the Anatolia news agency said.

Swiss govt to return another $300million Abacha loot - FG

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama says the Federal government is in the talks with the Swiss government for the release of another $300 million Abacha loot stashed in some Swiss banks. Onyeama said this while speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the 22nd regular course of Foreign Service Academy in Abuja yesterday January 11th.
“Nigeria recently recovered a huge amount of money from the government of Switzerland. I met with Switzerland representatives last week to work out the modalities for the recovering of these funds. So far Nigeria has recovered over $700 million, and there are ongoing negotiations on how that money would be applied. Discussion is also ongoing to recover another $300 million.”he said

$2.1bn arms deal scandal: Why we have not arrested Jonathan - EFCC

Acting Chairman of EFCC Ibrahim Magu says the agency is yet to arrest former President Goodluck Jonathan because no document has been traced to Jonathan giving any approval for the disbursement of the money for any purpose other than arms purchase.

Speaking at a meeting he had with online publishers in Lagos yesterday January 11th, Magu said all those that have been arrested and questioned in connection with the arms deal scandal were people who disbursed or collected money for reasons other than the purchase of arms and ammunition. “All approvals by former president Jonathan did not mention that it was for political purposes" he said.

PDP leadership asks Jonathan to speak up on the $2.1bn arms deal scandal

The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Abdulahi Jalo, has called on former President Goodluck Jonathan to speak out on the current $2.1 billion arms deal scandal. At a press conference in Abuja yesterday January 11th, Jalo said President Jonathan is still alive and should speak up on whether he authorized the former NSA Sambo Dasuki to disburse the money that was meant for the purchase of arms.

Top Exxon Mobil Engineer alleged to have raped a 14 year old girl in Lagos

This is a press statement from Women Association of The Good People on an alleged rape committed by a top Exxon Mobil engineer. His name and photos was sent in but we will leave that out for now until we get a confirmation from the police. Read story below.. 
On Monday, 4th of January 2016, the man who works With Exxon Mobil and also a landlord of a property on the island raped a 14 year old who happened to be the niece of his tenant.
On that faithful day, the man decided to visit the home of his tenants who owed him rent. They had advised him earlier that they wouldn’t be at home and only their 14 year old niece and 3 year old daughter would be home. He knocked on their flat and was attended to by the 14 year old who told the landlord her Uncle and Aunty weren't home. He insisted on entering the home of his tenants to wait for them. The naive 14-year old girl who had only been in Lagos for 3 weeks, opened the door and let the man in.

Photos: Nigerian fraudster and his brother-in-law who conned victims out of £25 million jailed in London

London-based Nigerian man and his brother-in-law have been jailed for a total of 14 years for their part in a 25 million pound internet fraud involving victims from 55 countries.

Emmanuel Adanemhen, 50,(left) and Eduwu Obasuyi, 40,(right) pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Court to their part in sophisticated fraud and money laundering scams, which in some cases targeted the elderly and vulnerable.
 
A Kent Police spokesman said that Adanemhen arrived in the UK as an asylum seeker in 1998 and had assumed the identity of a deceased Portuguese man by changing his name by deed poll and on driving licences.

The fraudster then used the fake identity to open bank accounts to launder funds from bogus schemes, which included dating website scams, false inheritance scams, overseas lottery wins and shipping frauds.
