ASUU ULTIMATUM BY THE PRESIDENT:NIGERIANS REACT

Lagos - Twitter has blown up with
students, lecturers and other citizens
commenting about President Goodluck
Jonathan’s ultimatum that the Academic
Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has a
week to call off their strike or they will
lose their jobs.
Most were very sceptic over the question
if the President's ultimatum will lead to
the end of the strike.
@rhemmymatician: What happens when
ASUU members get sacked after
December 5? A recruitment drive?
Many Twitter users questioned the
awkward timing of the ending of the
strike as it coincides with the Christmas
holidays.
?@FashalDiamond: What shall it profit
ASUU to call off the strike when
Christmas is just around the corner?
As the war between the Federal
Government and the ASUU reaches fever
pitch, citizens have chosen sides in the
battle:
@Eksu_olofofo: To be honest I really
don't blame #ASUU but #NUC for
nothing doing their work positivity cos
accreditation of bad infrastructure is a
crime
@iamhaqq: Asuu to resume before
december 4th...or cease being
lecturers......#now I see jonathan using
his powers to do something
@Chido92: #Asuu has overwelcomed
their stay,i support #FG on the ultimatum
@alee_moh: U want to sack seasoned
professors & phd holders...who wil now
teach? Alangba? Or d "new" half baked
teachers? Nonsense! #FG #ASUU
What do you think about this
development? Will it be back to school for
lecturers and students alike? Or will the
strike drag on? Sound off below by
commenting your thoughts.
